Gerda Taro, real name Gerta Pohorylle, is regarded often as the first female photojournalist to cover the front lines of a war and to die while doing so. She was Robert Capa photography and romance partner. Both can be considered as the first photographers bringing a new vision in the photographic field for being close, physically and emotionally, with their subjects. It took’s 70 years the see the first major exhibition of Taro’s work. Thanks to the International Center of Photography in Manhattan, New York.
